Course Description
Join leading UT Health Science Center San Antonio Faculty & International Scientists and Clinicians for four days of lectures, discussion and workshops. During this conference participants will understand the indications and principles for use of external fixation in foot & ankle pathology including trauma, revisional and reconstructive surgery, learn how to apply monolateral, hybrid, and circular external fixation devices on saw-bone models, understand principles and techniques for soft tissue reconstruction of traumatic and diabetic foot wounds, ability to apply the latest technology of internal fixation devices on saw-bone models and to understand the indications and principles of current orthobiologics, bone growth stimulation and negative pressure therapy treatments for difficult closure of traumatic and diabetic foot wounds.
Learning Objectives
- Recognize the indications and principles for use of external fixation in foot & ankle pathology including trauma, revisional and reconstructive surgery.
- Apply a monolateral, hybrid, and circular external fixation devices on saw-bone models.
- Discuss principles and techniques for soft tissue reconstruction of traumatic and diabetic foot wounds.
- Apply the latest technology of internal fixation devices on saw-bone models.
- Describe the indications and principles of current orthobiologics, bone growth stimulation and negative pressure therapy.

The UTHSCSA Continuing Medical Education Office reserves the right to limit enrollment or cancel any course no less than a week prior to the course. Should circumstances make this necessary, tuition will be refunded in full.
