CME Credit for Learning from Teaching
UT Health Science Center at San Antonio School of Medicine CME Office can now designate credit for learning from teaching in CME activities that our CME Office certifies. This credit acknowledges the learning associated with the preparation for an original presentation.
To recieve credit please see the following:
- Credit must be designated prospectively.
- Physicians can complete the Credit for Learning from Teaching application and submit it to Brenda Johnson, MEd, CCMEP, Director, Continuing Medical Education johnsonb3@uthscsa.edu or call 210/567-4442.
- Physicians will be awarded credit for double the amount of time of their presentation. For example if the presentation is 30 minutes in length, the physician can be awarded 60 minute or 1 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit.
- Physicians may not claim simultaneous credit as physician learners for sessions at which they present; however, they may claim participant credit for other sessions they attend as learners at a designated live activity.
- Credit may only be claimed once for repeated presentations.
