Course Description

This online enduring material presentation will focus on the Ebola Virus Disease and the recent preparedness updates. This presentation is designed to address the current status as well as preparation plans and includes a demonstration of PPE donning and doffing for purposes of general education.

In addition, there will be resources on Guidance on Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to Be Used by Healthcare Workers and a video from the experts from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) offering step-by-step guidance regarding the new personal protective equipment recommendations for patients with suspected or confirmed Ebola virus disease.

 

Who Should Attend?

This activity is designed to meet the educational goals of physicians and other healthcare professionals specializing in infectious diseases, internal medicine, emergency medicine, and those involved during the management of patients with the Ebola Virus Disease.

 

Learning Objectives

  • Recognize the epidemiologic risk factors
  • Identify the clinical signs and symptoms
  • Understand the modes of transmission and means of prevention
  • Understand the proper donning and doffing of personal protective equipment
