Course Description
The 13th Annual International External Fixation Symposium (IEFS) presented by UT Health San Antonio Long School of Medicine provides a comprehensive overview of surgery for the diabetic foot and ankle. Led by national and international experts, evidence-based lectures with dynamic panel discussions are augmented by detailed hands-on surgical training in cadaveric workshops. This year welcomes an international collaboration between the UT Health San Antonio Long School of Medicine, the Diabetic Foot Society of India (DFSI), and the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine (UPMC). The IEFS takes pride in uniting the world as one of the original and most dedicated surgical training symposiums in the management of the diabetic foot and ankle. The IEFS gives participants a unique interactive learning experience located downtown at the famous San Antonio River Walk.

Target Audience
This symposium is designed to meet the unique educational needs of podiatric surgeons, orthopaedic surgeons, vascular surgeons, plastic surgeons, general surgeons, fellows, residents, students and all other health care professionals interested in or involved in the surgical management of diabetic lower extremity manifestations.
