Course Description
This online enduring material presentation will focus on managing non-pain symptoms for terminally ill patients. This presentation is designed to address the geriatric syndrome of pain and non-pain symptom management to improve patient outcomes leading to quality improvement.
Who Should Attend?
This activity is designed to meet the educational goals of physicians and other healthcare professionals specializing in internal medicine, family medicine, geriatrics, palliative medicine, and oncology. This activity focuses on inter-professional learning.
Learning Objectives
- To review common non-pain symptoms in palliative care
- To describe evidence-based treatment options to alleviate non-pain symptoms, including palliative sedation
- To learn how opioids can be used in treating pain and non-pain symptoms
