Course Description

The US Mexico Border Centers of Excellence Consortium Forum will provide a unique and strategic forum for leaders in border health and key stakeholders to discuss the health problems affecting the region and to share information on effective models, research studies, and interventions that work to improve the health and well-being of the residents living along the border. The specific focus of this years meeting is to explore the current status of how border clinicians access evidence-based and research information to use in their clinical practice.

Target Audience

Forum participants will consist of Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) and funded program staff from the U.S. Mexico Border States of Arizona, California, New Mexico and Texas. These programs include Centers of Excellence, Area Health Education Centers, and Community Health Centers. There will also be representatives from the U.S. Mexico Border Commission and the Pan American Health Organization, as well as Colleges, Universities and other higher education institutions.


US Mexico Border COE Consortium attendees are automatically registered and required to attend the Second Binational Border Health Research Forum on Saturday, July 18th at the Estancia La Jolla Hotel and Spa. Please refer to the Research Forum Agenda.


Registration Information

The US Mexico Border Centers of Excellence Consortium will be held Sunday, July 19, 2009. The fee is $90.00. This includes a continental breakfast, lunch, and an afternoon refreshment break.


Advanced registration is encouraged. Please register early to avoid disappointment. Minimum and maximum numbers have been established for this conference. If you cannot attend , the Office of CME will refund registration fee, less $25.00 administrative fee provided it is received in writing prior to July 8, 2009. No refunds will be issued after this date or for nonattendance. Conference is subject to cancellation. In the event that this conference is cancelled, the Office of CME is not responsible for any airfare, hotel, and/or other costs incurred by participants.
